As YWAM Ships already has different vessels stationed around the world, and many more coming on stream, there is great need for qualified crews. Above is a pictorial summary of our vessels.
During this crazy year, we focused on Distance Learning via the training Moodle we created and Zoom coaching. This has worked well with YWAM Ships Kona completing their 12 week School of Navigation & Seamanship (SoNS) via our Moodle and instructors, without needing to get on a plane! The UK cohort will not have their exam until end May, after some practical sailing from 18th May, as we fit in with COVID restrictions.
Now we are planning more Distance Learning courses with multiple YWAM teams, some as far away as Solomon islands, as travel (and sailing) restrictions lift.
